A loan helped a member to buy sheep to resell.

Takku Ligueye Diagle Group's story

Madame Sokhna (the woman in the middle of the photo holding on to the sheep) is the president of the "Takku Ligueye Diagle" group. She is 43 years old and raises animals. She is the mother of three children aged between four and sixteen years old, of whom two are in school. She is married. She is the one in the middle holding the horns of the sheep.

She buys her stock weekly at markets in the region and neighboring regions. She usually resells her sheep to specific customers. Madame Sokhna dreams of having a sheep barn and developing a stall to better take care of the family's needs. She has appealed to IMF for a loan to expand her business. With this loan, she plans to buy three sheep of a value of 1,600,000 XOF and the rest of the money will be used for veterinary fees and concentrated animal feed.

The thing she likes the best about this business is the ability to take care of all of the family's needs (food, clothing for the children, education, medical fees, etc.). The loan will allow her more revenue and to achieve her future goals. Today, the problems she is confronted with are due to theft and seasonal diseases of the animals.
