A loan helped to purchase more store goods.

Grace's story

Grace is a young mother at the age of 27 years, with one child. She is living at Morata in Moresby North West District, an urban settlement in the city of Port Moresby, with her family.

Active and hard-working in her market, she understands that to live in the city, she must be formally employed to earn a salary to sustain her daily family needs. Grace can’t be employed due to her education level; hence, being self-employed is the only option for her.

She is engaged in an informal market in one of the city markets near her residence, selling store food to the public living in the same settlement area and the passers-by using the same road.

A successful young mother has saved her profits with an aim to access a loan with her bank to purchase more store goods to meet the high customer demand.

She has applied for this loan to purchase more stock to increase her inventory. Her plan is to save most of her new profits from the new stock in her bank for her family's future needs.

This loan is special because:

It promotes financial independence for marginalized women entrepreneurs.
