Philiph's story

Philiph is a 40-year-old married man and a father of five children. He joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa in the year 2007 so as to benefit from enterprise development, recordkeeping and financial management training.

He runs a general store in his local town. He is borrowing a Kiva loan to purchase more milk and sugar for resell which will lead to more sales hence income.

He intends to use the anticipated income to pay school fees for his children. He is grateful to Kiva and their lenders for the financial support and promises to repay his loan without fail.
