A loan helped to add stock to the business.

Miika's story

Miika is a refugee mother to three children all of whom are school going and stay with her in Yumbe. All her children attend school.

When she arrived in Uganda, she had lost hope and she never knew she would be where she is today. Today she is a charcoal seller.

She sells the charcoal within the community and the demand is really very high. She would like to add more stock so that she is able to expand the business and also do something more than this business.

With this in place, she will be able to sell more, pay school fees and start a restaurant business one day, which is her dream. She is forever grateful for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva has given her.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees in Uganda rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.
