A loan helped an immigrant businessman provide for his family and serve his community through exceptional service.

Eca's story

Hi, my name is Eca and I was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Before coming to the US, I studied to be a mechanic for large cars and trucks during my time as a refugee living in Burundi, a country located in East Africa. After settling in Northwest Arkansas, I got a job repairing public transit buses for Ozark Regional Transit. From there, I developed the idea to start my own auto sales and repair shop. I opened my shop in February of 2021 and I have learned so much. Every day I wake up grateful and motivated to succeed with Mossi’s Garage and Auto Sales. I am doing it for myself and my sons. I want them to grow up and see their father succeed in owning a small business and provide a comfortable and safe life for them. I am proud of my business and believe I can grow it with the support of Northwest Arkansas and the Kiva community.

This loan is special because:

It supports a small business owner with 0%-interest, zero-fee capital.
