A loan helped to buy more sand and cement that will be used to make bricks to sell.

Mimi's story

Meet 43 years old Mimi. She is a single mother with 4 children. One of her children is still schooling and live at home. Mimi is a high school graduate.

She runs a business where she makes bricks to sell. She has been operating her sales for several years. She learned how to sell from her uncle and started the business with her own savings. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and sells Monday through Saturday.

Mimi applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva Lending Partner. She plans to use the loan to buy more sand and cement that will be used to make bricks to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it takes care of her children. Mimi wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
