A loan helped to pay for spring field work in order to increase her harvest of organic vegetables, and to buy livestock feed.


Erkingul's story

Erkingul successfully repaid all her previous loans and is very grateful to the Kiva Fund and everyone, who helped her with the financing. Erkingul is 64 years old, married and together with her husband raising six beautiful children. Erkingul has a secondary education. She is a very hardworking and happy person. She has been involved in agriculture since 1990. Today, Erkingul's farm contains nine cows, thirty-five sheep and one horse. To continue growing her business, Erkingul requested another loan from the Bai Tushum Bank in the amount of 90,000 som (KGS) to pay for spring field work in order to increase her harvest of organic vegetables. She will use part of the loan to buy livestock feed. She plans to invest the earnings from the loan into further developing her business.
