A loan helped to buy suckling pigs, feed and vitamins for optimum care.

Maria Melida's story

María, 57, lives with her family in the parish of La Tobar Donoso which belongs to the Tulcán canton in the province of Carchi. The area is renown for its agricultural and livestock economy.

María is a very hardworking mother who has been working for 15 years in agriculture and raising small animals. She and her husband go out every morning to farm the earth and feed their pigs which are their main source of income to help support their personal expenses and household needs.

María is applying for a loan to buy suckling pigs, feed and vitamins to care for them in optimum conditions and sell them at a good price at market to earn a nice profit.

María is very grateful to Kiva for their support.
