A loan helped to buy more ingredients that will be used to cook food and drinks to sell.

Victoria's story

This is 51-year-old Victoria, from Liberia. She is divorced and has 4 children; three of whom are still schooling and live at home.

Victoria is a strong businesswoman who sells cooked food and drinks. She learned how to sell from her mother. She has been operating her sales for eight years. She sells Monday through Saturday and uses a taxi car to transport supplies to her business site.

Victoria applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. With this loan, she will buy more ingredients that will be used to prepare food and drinks to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it gives her profits.

She wants to build a restaurant in the future. Victoria is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
