A loan helped buy more cows to raise and sell.

Ourn's story

Ourn Y., 38, is widowed and resides with her two children in Takeo province, Cambodia, an area known for pre-Angkorean temples. Y. is a farmer and raises animals at home, earning an income of approximately $25 per day. Each month, the family has to spend $25 on food and $40 on the other necessary expenses.

Y. is requesting a loan of $600 to purchase more cows to raise and sell. In the future, she would like to use the additional income to repair her house. This will be her first loan from CREDIT, a long standing Kiva partner. Y. appears in the photograph with her mother and kid.
