A loan helped to purchase more clothes to sell.

Fanta's story

This is 44-year-old Fanta from Liberia. She is living together with her partner along with three children who are schooling. Fanta never had the opportunity to attend school. She deals in a business selling clothes. For ten years she has been operating her sales. She learned how to sell from her aunty and got her start up capital from her partner. She sells Monday through Saturday and uses a car to transport supplies to her business site.

To maintain her business, Fanta requested a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. With this loan, she will purchase more clothes to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it helps to support her family. She wants to build a house, send her children to school and build houses in the future. Fanta wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
