Mercedes, in the striped shirt in the photo, is 46 years old, was born in Peru, and came to Brazil in search of a better life. She is single and has a son who is also an entrepreneur; he is alongside her in the photo. She was able to open a small grocery store in her house, where she works, and she is able to support herself with her sales. She needs to invest in buying products to diversify her merchandise in order to increase her earnings. She will invest the loan in buying rice, beans, milk, and coffee to sell in her grocery store.
