A loan helped to purchase more raw food and vegetables to resell.

Angella's story

Angella is 25 years old and lives in the town of Matugga in the Kawempe region of Uganda. For the past 3 years, Angella has been working hard to manage her grocery store, which sells raw food.

To help expand her business, Angella has requested a loan of 1000000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more raw food and vegetables to resell, and will help Angella to generate greater profits. She can then provide for some of the basic needs of her family. Angella hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her food stall which will increase her sales.

Angella is a member of BRAC's microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Angella who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
