A loan helped to pay for maintenance like fertilizer and weeding of his cacao crop in order to strengthen and improve his harvests.

Isidro's story

Isidro, age 59, has four children who are his strength and his motivation for getting ahead. He lives with his life partner, who devotes herself to cultivating cacao and coffee. They both work a lot for a better future.

He considers himself to be a happy and responsible man. He has had his cacao bean business for 20 years. That is why his greatest challenge is to increase the hectares of his crop. Also, his big dream is to have better yield from the crop. In addition to this business his other source of earnings is from his work on his two hectares of coffee.

He will use the Kiva loan to pay for maintenance like fertilizer and weeding of his cacao crop in order to strengthen and improve his harvests.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Ginny Kalish.
