A loan helped a member to buy fish to sell in their village.

Sainte Anne Group's story

This banc villageois was created in June 2002 and brings together women who work in trade. They live in the same neighbourhood and support each other. Simone Ndew, the group representative, has her hand raised in the picture. She is 65 years old, widowed and has six children, including four sons, who all go to school. She sells fish and has a good experience of over 10 years in this field.

With this loan, she will buy three crates of fish to sell in front of her home. Local people eat fish every day so fish is sold well everywhere. The whole neighbourhood buys from her and she has a loyal customer base.

The profits will be used to strengthen the savings within the banc villageois, as well as to manage her daily expenses.

In this group: Blanche Yolande, Anna, Félicité Ndewe, Simone Ndew, Catherine Bénédicte Coura, Angélique Daba, Angélique Ngoné, Sylvie Germaine Léontine Seynabou
