A loan helped a member to buy pigs to raise.

Peykouck-Lélo Group's story

The banc villageois was created in June, 1998. It consists only of women who sale a number of goods. Ms. Colette, aged 78, is a childless lady who is active pig farming. She is the group representative. She is pictured on the left of the photo with her hand raised.

With this loan, Ms. Colette will buy 3 pigs and 17 bags of pig feed. She manages to sell all of her goods because pork has become a hot commodity, especially during the holidays when there is a big shortage of it. Her sales profits allow her to manage daily expenses, cover school fees for a niece entrusted to her care, and build her savings at the banc villageois.
