A loan helped to buy fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and labor for crops.

Jorge Agripino's story

Jorge lives with his wife and son in the community of El Porvenir. Their main source of income is agriculture--more specifically, cultivating corn and coffee. Jorge also raises pigs and earns additional income from timber cutting. He has 18 years of experience in these activities.

Currently, Jorge has 2 acres of Parainema coffee and 3 acres of Olotillo corn. He also owns 2 pigs. He is requesting this loan to purchase fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and labor to clean his crops because likes to maintain them with excellence. His dream is to move forward and increase his income so that his family lacks nothing.

He appreciates the support provided by Prisma and Kiva. March 2024.

This loan is special because:

It has a below-market interest rate and is repaid at harvest, when farmers can more easily repay.
