A loan helped to purchase more dried fish to increase her business.

Hawa's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! Hawa is a 37-year-old client of the Kandeh Town branch. She is a married businesswoman with four children between the ages of 9 and 20. Two of her children are currently in school. She started her business so that she could take care of her family.

Hawa has a retail business in which she sells dried fish to her customers in the community. She has been in business for the past 16 years. Hawa says that her main challenge is dealing with price increases at the market.

She is requesting a loan from BRAC Sierra Leone to buy more dried fish to sell so that she can increase her business. With the extra income that results from this loan, Hawa says that she will be able to take better care of her family. In the future, she would like to expand her business on a large scale. She expresses her thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
