A loan helped to support a refugee entrepreneur increase inventory for affordable clothing across his two shops and meet the demand at the camp.

Jean Marie's story

Jean Marie is a Rwandan refugee currently residing and doing business in one of the locations at the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya.

He is also a husband and a father of three, and the business provides the main source of income and livelihood for the family.

As a refugee, it was hard for him to start afresh and be able to gain income to support his family, but he was able to use his savings to start a used-clothing shop. He has gained quite many clients that purchase from his shop in large quantities.

The business was able to raise enough money to open a second clothes shop in the same area. Both shops are doing well, and they have been generating income and profits.

A loan to Jean Marie will help him increase working capital to help him increase inventory for both shops to meet customers' demands.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees launch businesses to rebuild their lives.
