A loan helped to buy agricultural tools that will reduce manual labor for her crop maintenance.

Ana's story

Ana is an indigenous farmer from Jambalo, Cauca, with more than 20 years harvesting knowledge in her community. She owns a 1.5-hectare terrain that was provided by the indigenous council, where she cultivates more than 4,500 coffee plants, along with corn and tomatoes. Ana fertilizes her crops using natural inputs prepared by her own hands and harvests approximately one ton of coffee with the help of seven people every month.

Ana lives with her husband and two of her four children in a house they jointly purchased. Her two older children actively participate in various agricultural activities and constantly help her with the terrain’s maintenance.

A loan of 2,402,992 COP helps Ana to upgrade her agricultural tools. These new inputs will optimize her crop cultivation and maintenance process, support the local harvests, and ensure the overall sustainability of her terrain.
