A loan helped to purchase more store goods.

Patricia Gimai's story

Patricia Gimai is a widow with six children, living in her rural Ulingan village in Bogia district, Madang province. She is 52 years old, but aging is not an issue to her.

She is engaged in selling store goods at her residence and this is how she has taken care of her family in the last six years. She is a hardworking woman who has never failed her children and has dreams of establishing a proper trade store one day.

She has applied for this loan to purchase more store goods to increase her inventory. Patricia also has decided to apply for a proper trade store licence to sell goods that are prohibited to sell without a proper licence.

She plans to save most of the profits from this new loan to venture into a bigger shop in the next two years. She is a second time borrower and is familiar with servicing her loan without delays.

This loan is special because:

It promotes financial independence for marginalized women entrepreneurs.
