A loan helped to pay for a large bag of raw kava to prepare kava juice which she will sell.

Betty's story

61-year-old Betty is married and a mother of five adult children. She lives with her husband and their children in a rural community south west of Efate, which is a 13-minute journey to town. Her husband is retired and she currently runs a kava business to earn a living.

She started her business eight year ago, with the aim of meeting her basic household necessities. Her dream is to sustain her business and improve her living conditions. Her current plan is to purchase a large bag of raw kava to prepare more kava juice so that she can better cater for her customers' demands. However, she is financially restrained and unable to carry out her plan.

She is requesting a loan to pay for a large bag of raw kava to prepare kava juice which she will sell. With the earned income, she will pay for her household necessities, save money and invest in her future investments. Betty is a devoted member of SPBD and this is her second loan cycle. Through this loan, she is motivated to grow her business and provide a better future for her family.
