06_Sope Serigne Fallou Khonkh Yoye Group's story

This group comprises five women who share strong ties of solidarity and mutual support. They live in the same village and seized the opportunity to join the banc villageois when it was established in the area in December 2012. They all run small commerce businesses as their main occupation.

Madame Maty, standing at the far right of the photo with her hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 44 years old and is married with four children, two of whom are girls. She sells vegetables on a small scale, and has the advantage of experience in this field as she has been working within it for several years.

With this loan, Maty plans to buy sacks of cauliflower, carrots, aubergines, chillies and cassavas to sell on a retail basis in her village. She will use her profits to renew her stocks, increase her savings and help her husband take care of the family.

In this group: Coumba, Maty, Amy, Awa, Awa
