A loan helped to buy fertilizers, fungicides and pay labor for plowing the land and caring for the crop.

Miguel Ramiro's story

Ramiro is 58 years old and lives with his family in the parish of Cahuasqui, which belongs to the Urcuqui canton of the province of Imbabura in northern Ecuador.
Ramiro works in agriculture. He plants crops on his land and also works as a day laborer on governmental land. The work starts very early because he needs to take care of the land and also help with the house expenses. He also raises chickens.
Ramiro requests a loan to buy fertilizers, fungicides and pay for labor to plow the land and care for the crop to obtain a good product and sell it at a good price in the market.
Ramiro is very grateful to KIVA for the help they give him to continue farming since it is his main source of income to support his family.
