A loan helped a member to buy second-hand shoes, thus strengthening the initial capital base.

Maisha Group's story

Collette is a Hekima MFI client and president of the "MAISHA" village group. She is married, aged 40 and the mother of 3 children, all of whom attend school; her partner is a shoemaker.

She has been selling shoes since 2002, with start-up funds from her husband. She later involved the Hekima program to support her business, during which she gradually evolved.

With this new loan, she will be sourcing second-hand shoes, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge of her business is the lack of customers.

She would like her children to continue studying, and for her to develop her business. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support given to non-monetizable business owners in this context of global crisis linked to covid-19. The photo is only of the leader of the group because of covid-19 in respect of social distancing measures.

In this group: Abeziba, Jacqueline, Antoinette, Micheline, Asnate, Joe?Phine, Ndawiha, Collette, Louise, Anastasie, Augustin, Esperance, Francine, Mulambairo, Johnson, Jean De Dieu, Sarah
