A loan helped to buy mulberry for her business making tapas.

Malia's story

This mother's name is Malia. She is married to a farmer and they have three children.

Currently, Malia is running a business making tapas [patterned cloths made from mulberry tree bark], where she joins the women in the village to make tapas. They make lots of tapas, design them, then sell out to local and overseas customers. Malia self-designs her tapas with beautiful traditional designs that capture the attention of most of her customers.

She joined the loan program to financially support her business, and in return her business provides for her family and repays her loan. This loan is nothing more than to buy mulberry for her tapa making.

This loan is special because:

It helps proven female entrepreneurs grow their businesses and create jobs.
