A loan helped to buy three cows to raise for sale.

Kiên's story

At the age of 22, Mr. Kiên finds himself as the sole breadwinner for his small family in the rural district of Trieu Son. With his father passing away early, he now lives with his ailing mother and 11-year-old brother, who is still attending school. Their modest home is a testament to their simple lifestyle and the challenges they face. His family is classified as a near-poor household according to the multidimensional poverty criteria set by the government.

His role as the primary provider for his family is a result of his mother's poor health. He works as an electrician and plumber while also engaging in small-scale farming and animal husbandry. Despite his hard work, the family's income is just enough to make ends meet, and they continue to face financial difficulties.

In an effort to improve their circumstances, Kiên has set his sights on expanding their cattle business. He therefore has asked for this first loan to purchase three cows at an estimated cost of $704 each. He plans to raise these animals for 1–2 years before selling them, providing a much-needed financial boost for his family.
