Las Victoriosas Group's story

Twenty-four year old Fatima is a high school graduate (in computing) but was unable to find work in that field in the department/state of San Marcos. Her husband works in a tire store and sells tires for cars and motorcycles. The couple have a nine month old baby. For two years, Fatima has sold clothing for girls and women. She sells door to door to people who she knows. Her goals are to have a successful business, more inventory and access to new customers in different areas.

Fatima was voted to be the Secretary of her Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Las Victoriosas” in the department/state of San Marcos by the six other women in the group. A monthly educational training about business management helps these ladies manage their animal husbandry (of chickens and pigs), tortilla shops, convenience and shoe stores, as well as their catalog product businesses. The training is part of the “Microcredit Plus” program. The monthly educational training, designed by a facilitator, covers everyday topics like nutrition, hygiene, health, family matters and women’s issues. Often, the women share what they learn with neighbors, friends and family members.

Being able to access loan support is so appreciated by Fatima and her friends in the Trust Bank. Thank you, Kiva lenders, to each of you for your kindness and your generosity!
