During a typical week, I would fail to properly nourish myself because I was always on the go. It was easy to end up at a fast-food restaurant as there were no healthy grab-and-go options in my neighborhood. I started making smoothies from a simple recipe to avoid processed foods and the chronic diseases they cause.
I shared my blends with family, busy friends, and coworkers who found themselves in similar situations. They all raved about how good my smoothies made them feel and word spread quickly. Now I have the opportunity to provide quality nutrition for community members who desire to lead healthier lives!
I love to raise awareness about nutrition and the impact it has on our health. Sharing the properties of the fruits and vegetables in my blends has been enlightening to many. I even published a food journal to assist those who need motivation while making healthier choices.
I have worked in nutrition mixing formulas to support various medical diets, as a birth doula assisting new mothers with nursing, and have been certified to care for the elderly and disabled. My experience has given me much knowledge regarding nutrition, health, and wellness and I look forward to pouring it all into each delicious smoothie.

Business Description
At NutriBae, we mix delicious smoothies, prioritizing healthy nutrition in city centers with little access to minimally processed foods. Out of a desire to eat healthy and help family and friends do the same, NutriBae started as a side hustle. Three years later, it has become a registered business and most meaningful endeavor. During the pandemic, we provided contactless delivery to those who were sick and shut in. We also provided nutrition to cancer patients who could not stomach anything else during chemo and radiation treatments. This was an unexpected benefit we were honored to give the community.
Currently, we are in the process of moving into a commercial kitchen that will allow us to take online orders, make deliveries to our clients, and cater special events. There are firefighters, nurses, fitness instructors, and many health-conscious people waiting on our smoothies for daily support and nourishment. Our growing customer base consists of about 500 people, so creating jobs is also a priority. We're going to need the help.
In the future, we look forward to having our own brick and mortar located centrally in Detroit as well as make our smoothies available in local grocery stores. We would like to be a staple in the community for healthy, convenient options.

What is the purpose of this loan?
I am applying for this loan because, thus far, I have only used my own money and support from family and friends to fund my business. This has been very limiting because I was only able to do so much at a time. A lump sum would help me accomplish more and move my business forward.
This loan will allow us to build business credit while securing vital equipment needed to mix and cater, and cover the cost of commercial kitchen fees, licensing, and permits. In order to accommodate our current customers without sacrificing customer service or safety, it is imperative that we upgrade our current blenders to more capable, commercial grade blenders. We will purchase food safe dispensers for catering events along with decor and branded merchandise.
Once these things have been accomplished, we will have positioned ourselves to mix consistently the community and make our healthy smoothies available in neighborhood grocery stores in the city.
