A loan helped to buy cattle for breeding.

Gulmayram's story

Gulmayram S. is a 53-year-old farmer with four children. She and her husband Kanybek make a living by breeding livestock, and during 25 years of marriage have helped each other build their business. They have also provided a good example of a successful marriage to their children.

Gulmayram grew up in a large family of farmers, and helped her family breed animals when a child. Her wide experience in farming has benefited her own business, which she started in 1996 to generate an income for her family. Starting with capital worth 10,000 KGS, they have slowly expanded to a point where they have three milk cows and 15 sheep, and earn about 1,500 KGS a month by selling milk in the local market.

Gulmayram is applying for a loan of 100,000 KGS to buy more livestock to fatten and resell. With the revenues made possible by this loan, she hopes to continue expanding her farm.
