A loan helped to purchase more clothes to sell.

Nancy's story

Nancy is 51 years old; she lives with her partner. She is a mother of 6 children. All of her children are presently attending school while living at home.

Nancy never had the opportunity to attend school. She mainly sells clothes. She learned how to sell from her mother and got her start-up capital from her partner. She has been managing her sales for six years now and has no problem with her sales. She uses a car or kehkeh to transport supplies at her business site and sells Monday through Saturday.

Nancy asked for a loan with BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. The loan will be used to purchase more clothes to sell. Her dream for the future is to build houses and continue sending her children to school. She is very grateful to BRAC and Kiva for their support. Nancy wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
