A loan helped to buy construction materials and pay wages for some laborers to build a hygienic toilet.

Luyến's story

Mrs. Luyến is 39 years old and married and has two children who are currently attending school. Her family belongs to an ethnic minority and lives in a small house in the mountainous area of Nhu Thanh district. Her husband works as a construction worker, while she works as a tailor, and together they earn a total income of 538 USD per month, which is just enough to make ends meet.

Unfortunately, their living conditions have been affected by the deteriorating state of their bathroom, which is in desperate need of repair. Mrs. Luyến and her family do not have the funds to build a new bathroom, and so she asked for this sixth loan from Thanh Hoa MFI to purchase construction materials and hire workers to build a new one.

The family's current financial situation makes it difficult for them to afford such an expense, but having a safe and clean bathroom is essential for their health and well-being. Luyến is hoping to receive assistance in the form of a loan so that her family can improve their living conditions and continue to provide a safe and comfortable home for their children.

With the support of Kiva and lenders, Luyến is optimistic that she can overcome this challenge and create a better living environment for her family.

This loan is special because:

It supports women from ethnic communities and single parent families.
