Mayerli Andrea's story

Mayerli lives in the indigenous community of the Males reservation in Vereda el Quemado Medio, in the area by the terminal of the municipality of Córdoba, department of Nariño, in southwestern Colombia. Its residents work in agriculture, growing cold climate crops, like potatoes, peas, and raspberries, and raising small livestock like guinea pigs, laying hens, and pigs).

Mayerli is 19, single, and has no children. She lives with her older sister, who is married and has 2 children, aged 11 and 4. Mayerli has 10 years' experience in agriculture. She started when she was 9 years old, because it was an activity she inherited from her parents. She has had her own crops om her mother's land for 5 years.

Mayerli is asking for a loan of $ 2,070,000 COP to buy agricultural supplies and to buy fertilizer for her potato and pea crops.

Mayerli's dream is to improve her standard of living by increasing and improving her agricultural activity.
