A loan helped to build a new bathroom for her family.

Kim's story

In the remote and mountainous district of Cam Thuy, Mrs. Kim, 42, is from a minority ethnic group and faces the daily challenge of balancing family life and sustenance in a secluded community. Mrs. Kim, married with two children attending school, is determined to improve the living conditions for her family.

The primary livelihood for the family comes from the combined efforts of Mrs. Kim and her husband. Mrs. Kim is involved in animal husbandry and cultivation, and her husband works as a freelance laborer, often contributing his skills to local farms. Together, their earnings are modest, sufficient for basic necessities, but lacking the financial capacity for significant improvements.

One pressing issue the family grapples with is the deteriorating state of their sanitation facilities. Despite the necessity for a new structure, financial constraints have stood in the way of making this crucial improvement. Undeterred, Mrs. Kim asked for this 5th loan from Thanh Hoa MFI to purchase construction materials and hire skilled labor to build a new sanitation facility for her family, to create positive change in their lives and communities.
