A loan helped to buy more bales of used clothes to sell.

Amie's story

Amie is thirty-seven years old and from Liberia. She is a single mother with two kids; they are both in school and live at home. Amie attended school up to the sixth grade. She deals in a business selling used clothes. She learned how to sell from her mother. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and sells Monday through Saturday.

To continue her business, Amie applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. This financing will be used to buy more bales of used clothes to sell in order to repay her loan and increase her income. She likes her business because it helps her provide for her family. Her dream for the future is to open a shop.

Amie is very grateful for the financial support from BRAC and Kiva.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
