A loan helped to buy more beds from neighbors for resale, and to purchase a piece of farmland that she can rent out to her neighbors for a fee.

Chin's story

From the province of Kompon Thom, Chin R., aged 27, owns and operates a handicraft business with the core activity being the sale of rattan cupboards and beds. She sells rattan cupboards and beds that her husband makes, or she orders from other weavers who live in the village. She uses her horse cart for transportation and it takes a week to sell all her products. She is a good mother to her two children who are still living under her care.

In order to increase her income, Chin R. has applied for a loan to buy more beds for resale, and to purchase a piece of farmland that she can rent out to her neighbors for a fee. Note that Chin R. and her young child are shown in the photo.
