A loan helped to buy organic mulch, fertilizers, mulch and work tools, for his crops of berries and beans.

Alberto's story

Alberto is an honest and happy person. He lives with his children in a community with a hot, humid climate where many tropical fruits grow, such as berries, naranjilla and passionfruit, among others.

After his wife died, Alberto had to take over care of his small children. It was very hard at first, but over time, and through helping each other, he has managed to stabilize things.

In order to have time to spend with his children Alberto works growing berries and beans. He takes these products to the local fair in baskets. They are highly desired by both locals and foreigners.

Alberto sees that the quality of his products is sufficient to transport them to the coast of the county. For that reason he wants to boost his crops even more, and is seeking a loan to buy organic mulch, fertilizers, and compost to keep his crops free of pests. He will also buy work tools, such as machetes, baskets, gloves, sacks and newsprint for harvesting his crops. In this way he hopes to improve his financial situation so he can remodel his home to make it more inviting, and provide a stable future to his family.
