Inocencia's story

Inocencia M. is from the village of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. She is 46 years old, married and has 3 school-aged children. She owns & operates a sari-sari (variety) retail shop where she sells daily use products such as shampoo, soap, canned goods, snack foods, biscuits, detergents & toothpaste. She has been engaged in her business for over 3 years and earns approximately 10,000 PHP a month.

In 2008, Inocencia joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 21,000 PHP from HSPFI. This previous loan was used to to purchase additional inventory & provide working capital. She is requesting a new loan of 24,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional products to sell such as snack foods & canned goods. This will be her 7th loan from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated to improve and expand her business.
