Sarah's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 46 year old Sarah from Masingbi branch. She is a married business woman with 5 children between the ages of 12 and 33 years old, 2 of whom are currently attending school.

For the past 15 years, Sarah has run a retail business selling fast food to her customers around the community. She started this business to take care of her family. Sarah says that her challenge is the increase in the price of goods in the market.

Sarah requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more food and cooking items such as onions, palm oil, pepper etc. to increase her business. Sarah says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family.

In the future, Sarah would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to funding in areas where there are limited alternative sources of finance.
