A loan helped a community-orientated Muay Thai gym buy floor mats, punching bags, and equipment to train members.

Kyle's story

I grew up in the suburbs of Oklahoma City, OK during the 90's - early 2000's. As a child I was always involved in a variety of sports but really focused on basketball in my adolescence. I was always motivated by the camaraderie I found with my team, the hunger for competition, and the desire to showcase my knowledge and skills in high-level competitive basketball.

The years passed by after I moved to Tucson in 2011 to go to college, I focused on my studies, work, and then fatherhood. Athletics were a big part of my life growing up, so the desire to train and compete was always there, I just didn't know where to start again. In 2016, I was invited by a friend to check out a Muay Thai gym. I didn't have any previous martial arts training, but I had always dreamed about fighting due to the rising popularity of the UFC in the early 2000's.
I attended my first training session and loved every second of it. I signed up for my fight debut that would take place five months later on PPV. It was an amazing experience, and a roller coaster of adrenaline that completely hooked me to the sport of Muay Thai.

Today I am just as passionate about Muay Thai because of the improvements I noticed on my own mental and physical well being. I have had the blessing of embarking on this journey with my wife and kids, and together we hope to inspire more families to try this together. Our gym has built a community of inclusion, direction, and unity for individuals with goals of competing or simply trying something new and exciting.
