Putri Mandiri Group's story

The group chose the name "Putri Mandiri" (Independent Women) in the hope that, one day, the members will not be dependent on their husbands. "Putri" means "woman" and "mandiri" means "independent." The Putri Mandiri Group has 14 members and is located in Melaya Bali.

The group is led by Ni Ketut R., age 58, who is respected by the members. Ni Ketut R. has four children, all of whom are married. Ni Ketut R. is grateful that MUK trusts her group enough to give them a second loan. Like their previous loan, this loan will provide each member with Rp 1,500,000.

Ni Ketut R. will use her portion of this second loan to buy more piglets. She will raise the pigs for five months and sell them in July.
