A loan helped to buy cacao seeds, compost, manure, fertilisers, and other supplies.

Carmen Eulalia's story

Carmen is a young single mother who lives with her parents in a rural area with a warm climate where tropical fruits are grown.

Since falling pregnant, Carmen has had to fight alone as the father of her little girl has neglected his responsibilities, leaving Carmen to raise her daughter alone. But thanks to the help of her own father who gave her a small plot of land to work, Carmen started working in farming. She works the land with cacao and banana seeds, allowing her to support herself for some years. Carmen wants to continue driving her work forward by growing on more of the land. She is therefore applying for a loan to buy cacao seeds, compost, manure, fertilisers, and other supplies.

Carmen wants the profits from these crops to help give her daughter a good life, and to help her to take the first steps in building her own home.
