A loan helped to purchase more dried fish and fresh fish to sell.

Rebecca's story

Meet 34 year-old Rebecca, from Liberia. She is married and has 3 children; they are schooling and live at home. Rebecca never had the opportunity to attend school. She runs a food market selling dried fish and fresh fish. She learned how to sell from her aunty and started the business with her own savings. She sells 6 days a week and has been managing her sales for 5 years now. She has no problems with her business and uses a car or bike to transport supplies to her business site. Rebecca requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more dried fish and fresh fish to sell in order to further build her business. She likes her business because it helps to support her family. She wants to increase her business in the future. Rebecca says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
