A loan helped to purchase more clothes.

Moreen's story

Moreen is 39 years old and lives in the town of Njeru in the Njeru region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, who are all currently in school. For the past eleven years, Moreen has been working hard to manage her clothing sales business.

To help expand her business, Moreen has requested a loan of 5,000,000 Ugandan shillings [UGX] from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more clothes. This will help Moreen to generate greater profits and expand her business.

Moreen hopes that in the future she will be able to buy a plot of land.

Moreen is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Moreen who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Uganda.
