A loan helped to buy more natural medicines for resale.


Hadija's story

Hadija is 61 years old and lives in the town of Mityana in the Mityana region of Uganda. She is married and has 7 children. For the past 30 years, Hadija has been working hard to manage her pharmacy, which offers natural services.

To help expand her business, Hadija has requested a loan of 5,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more natural medicines for resale, and will help Hadija to generate greater profits. She works hard to have a good life by providing her family with enough food. Hadija hopes that, in the future, she will be able to to grow her natural medicine business even more.

Hadija is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves Small Group members like Hadija who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans
