A loan helped to buy dairy cows, chickens, and sheep, as well as farming supplies.

Maria Concepcion's story

Concepción lives in the community of Tejar Balbaneda, which is in the canton of Guamote. She is a humble, hardworking, and responsible woman. Concepción recently became widowed and was left to care for her two young children on her own.

She raises small livestock such as chickens, pigs, sheep, and guinea pigs. Concepción also grows potatoes, beans, corn, and peans on land that belongs to her family. She learned everything about farming at a very young age from her parents.

Concepción wants to continue boosting her agricultural business. She will buy dairy cows, chickens, and sheep, as well as farming supplies. Her land has fertile soil and adequate pastures for her animals. With the income she generates, Concepción hopes to provide a good future and a decent education for her children.
