A loan helped to secure a food truck for Imposter's Kitchen to serve the greater Moose & Lakes Region communities of NH!

Abby's story

I grew up in a big Italian family where essential discussions and celebrations were held around the table. Food is my love language! Food says just the right thing when there are no words. Since 2013, I've dreamed of opening a food truck and bringing my food to local breweries, events and neighborhoods. My first truck concept was a SNHU Tory Marandos Entrepreneurial Challenge finalist! But the reality of life distracted me as I built a supply chain & customer service career, began paying my college loans, bought a house and married.

I've had a handful of side gigs and my full-time jobs, including wedding signs, painting portraits, and graphic design. These gigs never fueled my creative drive the way that cooking does!

In 2022, I decided to dip my toes into the world of food in an official way and started by writing and publishing a cookbook, "The Imposter's Kitchen Cookbook." From there, I began vending at markets & offering baked goods, small-scale catering and meal preps for local families, businesses and their events. My success has allowed me to donate funds to local Mutual Aid recipients in my community and the Farmington Parks and Rec Department.

I still have my full-time job, and I'm balancing both well. With the purchase of a food truck (or startup funds for a storefront), I would be able to jump in on weekends and for events to start, and eventually go full-time offering my creative food, event and catering services, and community aid to a broader population and live my true passion!
