A loan helped a member to buy fish.

Pa Khoang 105 Group's story

Tien is an ethnic minority woman belonging to the Black Thai minority. She lives in a traditional stilt house in a rural commune in northwest Vietnam. Born and raised in a farming family, she follows her family’s steps in working in the agricultural sector to earn a living.

Being illiterate, she concentrates on agricultural activities such as cultivating rice and breeding. Her son is mature and works as a hired laborer but the income is not stable.

Due to the lack of capital to expand her business, she decided to take this 10th loan to buy more baby fish. With more than 10 years of experience, she believes that her fish will grow successfully because of her ability and also the raising technique support from Anh Chi Em’s veterinarian.

The reason why she chooses to raise fish is that fish are easy to raise and have a better price when purchasing. She plans to use the profit to re-invest.

Her simple hope is that her family members are always healthy. In this photo, she stands far from the right. Thank you for this support from Kiva lenders.
