A loan helped to buy seeds, mulch, and fertilizers, and to pay laborers to prepare the land and plant the crop.

Blanca Marlene's story

Marlene, age 44, lives with her family in the community of Cachaco, village of Lita, province of Imbabura. This is a sector where agriculture is the principal economic engine.
Marlene is very hardworking. For several years, she has worked growing naranjilla [a fruit]. With her family, she goes out to work the land and to feed her animals. This is her source of income for supporting her family economically.

Marlene requests a loan to buy seeds, mulch, and fertilizers, and to pay laborers to prepare the land and plant the crop. This will permit her to obtain a product of quality and to sell it at a good price in the market.

Marlene is happy and grateful for the opportunity and support provided to her.
