Raúl, age 50, is a jovial and hard-working man. He lives in his own home with his wife, Ofelia (age 35), and their two young children, whom he wants to give a good quality of life. Working arduously, this diligent man has managed to make his crop fields thrive. Every morning he wakes up very early in order to irrigate and care for his plantain and coffee plants, which he will then sell in the city of Pichanaki as this is where he obtains the best prices for his products. What he likes most about his job is that he can enjoy the freedom of working in his green fields, which he has been doing for 24 years. He considers the most difficult aspect to be working the land all day long, leaving him little time to do any other activity. In the future, he hopes to adapt his fields for citrus production during the time when citrus sells the most. This is Raul's fourth loan with MFP. He knows that this loan will help him considerably with the progress and development of his business, which is why he is ready to make his payments punctually. In his microfinance group, he is a very responsible member, which is why he is very respected.
